The Harris Tweed Act (1993) ensures that every metre of Harris Tweed conforms to exacting standards and adheres to the exacting standards of Harris Tweed.   All  Harris Tweed Fabirc  is hand-woven by islanders in their homes in the Outer Hebrides and is made from pure virgin wool dyed and spun in the Outer Hebrides. This is what entitles it to carry the famous Orb Mark certifying it as Harris Tweed.
